— Beyond the Numbers —
“There is a reason why they make the rear view mirrors of a car smaller than the windshield. You are only supposed to glance quickly at what’s behind you and focus on what’s in front of you. The past is just a reminder of what you got through.”
The whole point of setting up this site is pretty straightforward: in a world dominated by endless data, spreadsheets, and financial calls, I wanted to put a real, breathing human face—the real me—behind the numbers.
Beyond the market trends and the daily grind, I’ve had my fair share of setbacks, wins, rough patches, and fresh starts. Those experiences are what shaped how I view life, other people, and the world at large.
This isn't some curated highlight reel of a "perfect life"—it’s just an honest look at the guy behind the work.
I was born in Moscow, Russia in 1980. When I was two, my family moved to Jordan, where I spent my childhood and teenage years before heading over to the States after high school.
Growing up between Russia and Jordan gave me two totally different lenses on life: the structured discipline of Europe and the open, diverse culture of the Middle East.
Most people first run into me through finance, trading, or investing. But that’s only one slice of the pie. Behind the charts and market insights is someone who’s figured out how to grow through pressure, uncertainty, and constant change.
Privately, I'm a guy who values discipline, privacy, family, continuous learning, and genuine human connection.
My fascination with finance started out of pure curiosity about how numbers, decision-making, and human behavior all tie together.
Years in the markets taught me that numbers are never just cold math. Every single chart and every big call is backed by real people, raw emotions, risks, and opportunities.
Over time, I've really come to appreciate the value of discipline, patience, and learning to make peace with uncertainty.
For me, finance isn't just about moving money around—it’s a way to read the world through data and keep leveling up from every experience.
From growing up across Russia and Jordan to experiencing different corners of the world, my life has been heavily shaped by diverse cultures and perspectives.
Living in different environments taught me how to adapt on the fly, stay observant, and genuinely get people from all walks of life.
Moving across borders and putting down roots in new places made me realize one thing: change isn't something to fear; it's just an open door to new opportunities.
Serving in the Russian Air Force just outside Moscow was a huge turning point in my life.
When I first got there, the brutal, freezing winters, the strict daily routines and guard duties, and the high-pressure grind of supporting air operations hit me hard, and it really taught me what responsibility and discipline actually mean. There was zero room for cutting corners. Executing every order and handling every maintenance check down to the smallest detail completely stripped away my old restlessness and bad habits.
The biggest thing I took away from that time was learning how to stay resilient under extreme pressure and see the bigger picture. I learned how to deal with the solitude of long watch shifts, stay sharp when things were changing fast, and truly understand what loyalty and having your teammates' backs are all about. Even after hanging up the uniform, the focus, composure, and grit forged in that environment stayed with me. It has given me the confidence to take on whatever life throws my way.
Growth isn't about chasing perfection—it’s about learning, rolling with the punches, and keeping moving forward.
Click below to explore what people frequently ask me behind the scenes:
Clarity Under High Pressure: Short-term trading is purely a mental and psychological game under high pressure. Many beginners who just enter the industry think that staring at the screen 24 hours a day and keeping their adrenaline pumping at any time is diligent. But in my experience, continuous high pressure will completely destroy reason, and out-of-control emotions are the most expensive tuition fees in trading. The more you face a digital world of violent surges and plunges, the more you need to anchor your feet with an extremely disciplined real life.
The Certainty in a Cup of Pour-Over Coffee: Every morning when I wake up, I spend more than ten minutes battling a cup of pour-over coffee. Weighing the grams, grinding the beans, controlling the water temperature, watching the coffee grounds bubble and expand in the filter paper, the whole room is filled with a bitter aroma.
Friends always laugh at me for making coffee like doing chemistry in a lab, but I just like this stubborn streak, because coffee is much more honest than the market. Whatever parameters you give it, it gives you that taste, and it never backstabs you. In a crazy world like the crypto market where wicks happen every day and surprises are prepared for retail investors at any time, the certainty that these ten minutes can be tightly held in my own hands is my only psychological anchor to prevent myself from smashing the keyboard before the market opens every day.
Knowing How to Actively Unplug the Internet: In the crypto circle, FOMO is the deepest pitfall. Many traders can not wait to keep their eyes open and look at their phones even when sleeping, resulting in issuing fatal wrong instructions when their brains are completely numb.
There is a hard iron rule in my trading system. As long as it is not during trading hours, decisively turn off all market pop-up windows. Leave time for photography, for real-life friends and food, or just go outdoors for a walk. Knowing how to turn off the computer and return to the real world to live at the right time is the ultimate skill.
Having moved across borders early in life and served in high-pressure military environments, I learned early on that panic solves nothing. You treat uncertainty like a data point: assess the risk, stay calm, and execute your next step with absolute precision, just like keeping your eyes focused on the road ahead rather than getting stuck looking in the rearview mirror.
Life is way bigger than work and achievements.
The people we cross paths with and the deep bonds we build are what actually make the ride worthwhile.
I hold trust, respect, family ties, and real-deal friendships close to my heart.
Love has taught me that meaningful connections are built on shared memories, experiences, and the people who leave a permanent mark on who we are.
There's a whole world outside of work, portfolios, and business decisions.
My personal time off the clock is a massive, non-negotiable part of my life.
I love exploring new places, soaking in different cultures, and genuinely appreciating the small, everyday moments.
To me, a meaningful life is all about balance—staying curious, never stopping learning, and actually enjoying the journey along the way.
Outside of the office and watching the tickers, I'm all about things that keep my curiosity sharp, my creative juices flowing, and my life balanced.
I love hunting down new spots, diving into different cultures, and picking up fresh perspectives through books, tech, and hands-on experiences.
Some of my go-to interests include:
For me, hobbies aren't just about kicking back—they're a vital way to stay curious and keep growing as a person.
The values I picked up from my family growing up still guide how I treat people, make calls, and look at the world every single day.
Growing up multicultural drilled into me the importance of respect, accountability, and empathy.
Family isn't just about where you come from; it’s about the core values you carry forward and the people who keep pushing you to be better.
Bouncing between different countries with my family from an early age gave me a wide-angle view of the world that stuck with me for good.
You can't sum up a person's life by a single title, a home country, or a milestone achievement.
My story is a patchwork of different cultures, markets, faces, and unexpected twists—all of which completely changed how I see the world.
Numbers might tell part of the story.
The rest of the good stuff comes down to lived experience, relationships, and the people you meet along the way.
